Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how TaskPulse collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use the TaskPulse mobile application. TaskPulse is developed by Levelcraft.
1. Information TaskPulse uses
Microphone access
If you choose to create a voice note, TaskPulse requests microphone access only while you actively record speech for transcription.
Google sign-in and Calendar
If you connect Google Calendar, TaskPulse uses your Google account to create, update, delete, and import calendar events related to your tasks.
Diagnostics and analytics
TaskPulse uses Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to understand app usage patterns and detect crashes or reliability problems.
2. How TaskPulse uses this information
- To create, organize, edit, and complete tasks inside the app.
- To schedule reminders and restore reminder behavior after reboot.
- To transcribe speech into text when you intentionally use the voice note feature.
- To sync dated tasks with Google Calendar when you choose to connect that feature.
- To improve app stability, measure feature usage, and troubleshoot crashes.
3. Permissions used by the app
- Microphone (`RECORD_AUDIO`): used only for user-initiated voice note transcription.
- Notifications (`POST_NOTIFICATIONS`): used to send reminder notifications.
- Exact alarm (`SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM`): used to schedule timely reminders.
- Boot completed (`RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED`): used to restore reminders after device restart or app update.
- Battery optimization request: used to help hourly reminders remain reliable on supported Android devices.
- Internet: used for Google sign-in, Google Calendar sync, and Firebase services.
4. Where your data is stored
Core task data is stored locally on your device using on-device storage. TaskPulse does not currently operate its own cloud sync backend for your task database.
If you connect optional Google Calendar sync, dated tasks and related calendar metadata are sent to your Google Calendar account. If you use voice note transcription, speech recognition may be processed by your device operating system or speech recognition provider. If you use Firebase-enabled builds, analytics and crash diagnostics are processed by Google Firebase services.
5. Sharing of information
TaskPulse does not sell your personal data. Information may be shared with service providers only as needed to provide optional app features:
- Google, for optional sign-in and Calendar sync.
- Firebase (Google), for analytics and crash reporting in supported builds.
- Platform speech recognition services, when you intentionally use speech-to-text for voice notes.
6. Data retention and deletion
Your locally stored tasks, folders, and notes remain on your device until you delete them or uninstall the app. Google Calendar events created through TaskPulse remain in your calendar until you or the app delete them. Analytics and crash data are retained according to Firebase's policies and settings.
7. Your choices
- You can skip Google sign-in and use TaskPulse locally.
- You can deny microphone permission and still use the rest of the app.
- You can disable notifications or decline reminder permissions, though reminders may stop working properly.
- You can disconnect Google Calendar from the settings area of the app.
8. Children’s privacy
TaskPulse is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
9. Changes to this policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. Any updates will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
